Assisting those with blindness and diabetes are among the Lions highest priorities. The Diabetes Education and Camping Association (DECA) provides networking and resources to enhance and expand diabetes programs worldwide. Camp STIX has been attending DECA's annual conferences since our inception, and has garnered many wonderful ideas which have improved our camp. We are proud to partner with DECA in offering phenomenal camps for children with diabetes.
American Youth Understanding Diabetes Abroad
American Youth Understanding Diabetes Abroad (AYUDA) empowers youth to serve as agents of change in diabetes communities around the world. Camp STIX has both sent representatives to volunteer in diabetes camps in Ecuador, and had counselors from other countries volunteer with us through AYUDA. This counselor exchange program has allowed our campers to learn more about Type 1 Diabetes in other countries.
