At Camp: 01, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09; Favorite Meal: Oh Lordy! Camp food is heavenly when compared to the college campus food...but I guess I would have to say the chicken cacciatore or the breakfast muffin things. Yumm-o

Favorite Experience: I am a counselor and lovin it! Its also pretty amazing to think that this year one of my first campers when I joined the staff will now be joining as a JC. I find also that I have been able to make a lot of friends and connections throughout my years here. Nonnies who don\'t go to camp just don\'t understand the correlation between my intake of diet coke and my life! But seriously, I have been able to use these friends when no one else understands...tear! I guess what sticks in my head the most is how my mother reacted to Never on my very first day to camp. Nev was so happy and excited that my mom has never ever forgotten who she was. It cracks me up!

Favorite Song: Oh everyone likes the squirrly song! Shake those bushy tails! and there is waddle-atcha and tater tot and and...I just don\'t think there is a bad camp song!!!

Camp Helped You: It might be easier to say how camp hasn\'t helped me, the list is so much shorter. Camp is always in the back of my mind. Whenever I am having a tough time managing my diabetes, I think about what they would tell me to do at camp. It was at camp that I first tried an insulin pump (with saline) and once I got my own they were the ones that helped me try new sites. I even got to stick one in a nonnie (thanks Juju!). Then there are just some amazing people I have met and they have taught me and influenced me so much!! Camp is second home and I <3 it!!

Favorite Activity: I love crafts...some of those campers are very creative!! Oh, and cream the counselor because it is so much fun to see a little guy smash a whipped cream pie in another\'s face! To sum it up, Camp is my favorite activity!!

At Camp: 08, 09; Favorite Meal: The Veggie Pizza; Favorite Experience: Getting to meet all the new kids there. Also the Talent Show was my fav!!! I loved how after i did it some of the guys asked me if i could show them some moves!
Favorite Song: Going on A Lion Hunt. I like it because it always got everyone happy and feeling good.; Camp Helped You: Everyone pushed mt to be the best with doing my shots, counting carbs and drawing up my insulin. Also Jolly Rancher never gave up on me she was alsways there for me and so were all my new friends!!!; Favorite Activity: Mine has to be the Dance at the end of the week. Everyone always has a good time with their friends.

YUM!!; Favorite Experience: i cant choose. i love everything because camp stix is my home away from home.; Favorite Song: waddle-E-acha lol it annoys my mom so much; How has Camp Helped You? it made me realize that lots of kids have diabetes , so i didn't feel as bad about it. that helped me focus more on taking care of my problem and feeling better about myself; Favorite Activity: i love anything in afternoon activities. you're free to get a snack at the camp store, do crafts, play tennis, vollyball, basetball, swing, swim, go canoeing, and just chill if you want to

By knowing that I'm not the only person in the world with diabetes.; Favorite Activity: Cream the Counselor.{If any of you remember the Camp Stix news where Jeopardy was interveiwed because two little girls were passing out stickers that said Vote For Jeopardy, I was one of those "little girls". But HA HA to Jeopardy, he got creamed anyway with 88 votes!!!.)We don't like new people, Vote For Jeopardy!! JK, we do like new people!! Oh yeah, and the dance.

At Camp: 06, 07, 08; Favorite Meal: Hmmmmm, just thinking about the food at camp makes my mouth water. He He. IDK, I loved all the food at camp because there were so many varieties.; Favorite Experience: Getting out in the fresh air.(and getting away from my parents and siblings). JK.(not really). HA HA. And making new friends.; Favorite Song: I loved all the songs at camp. But if I had to choose, it would be My Friend.; How has Camp Helped You? It helps me get back on track if I have high numbers.And it also helped me realize that I'm not the only one out there that has diabetes. It makes me feel good that when I'm at camp, there are people that understand what I'm going through, and I understand what they're going through. Because we all share at least one thing in common.; Favorite Activity: I loved all the activities at camp, but I loved going swimming. And I loved doing the recording studio.

At Camp: 06, 07, 08; Favorite Meal: hmmmmm... i would probably have to say the grilled cheese!! YUM!!; Favorite Experience: my all time fav. camp experience??.... probably meeting my amazing diabetic friends and some awesome nonnys! :); Favorite Song: I love the song that we sing at the end of camp fire.. :) im brain dead right now so i cant think of the name haha and i also love Peanut Butter and Jelly!! :); How has Camp Helped You? Camp Stix has helped me understand my diabetes further than i already knew. and the med staff helped me learn how to change my own pump site and they support me and well yeah.. :); Favorite Activity: my favorite camp activity would probably have to be AWOL or Message to Garcia!!

At Camp: 07, 08; Favorite Meal: The chicken with spegetti sauce on it was really good!; Favorite Experience: Staying up late on the last night of camp to exchanging numbers and adresses. We would talk and cry and say how much we will miss each other.; Favorite Song: Tator tot is my favorite because it has fun moves in it!; How has Camp Helped You? It is a place where I can be with people who are going through the same things as me. The people around me know how I feel. It is a great way to spend a week during the summer. I wish the camp lasted longer.; Favorite Activity: CANOEING! I love going out on the lake without getting wet.

At Camp: 05, 06, 07, 08; Favorite Meal: IDK its all good (unlike some other camps he he)but the most meiorable meal was when jolly had 8 SERVINGS OF BEANS.... Ha Ha; Favorite Experience: It was skit night and me and another camper got to have a dance off in front of the whole camp! It was so FUN!!!! At Camp: 04, 05, 06, 07; Favorite Experience: The best experience is the atmosphere at camp when the campers arrive. All the counselors have a smile on their face already knowing the frightened kid is going to have the time of their life, there's the new faces eager to get to know you, and the old friends who go right back to your side no matter the changes about you. Everyone's smiles, all the time, throughout the week, make my favorite camp experience.

At Camp: 01, 04, 05, 06, 07; Favorite Meal: If you want the truth I have never had a bad Campt Meal. It is all absolutely scrumpshalicious.; Favorite Experience: My Favorite all-time Camp Stix experience was when I was when I was first at camp. I was a little kid(well I really dont know if me or any other camper/counsler at Camp Stix really can ever grow up. Its just too much fun being a kid.) I was a scared. It had been the first time i had been away from home for a long period of time, and it was a long way at that. Yet even though I was scared within the first five minutes of being with the counslers and all of cabin-mates, everyone is always so friendly that i had too much fun to be scared.; Favorite Song: I LOVE all of the camp songs. Even if I cant always sing all of them.; How has Camp Helped You? Camp Stix has helped me with my diabetes by teachin me them in a fun enviromeant so I actually wanted to pay attention.; Favorite Activity: My favorite camp activity is the big games that the whole camp plays together Like the games A.W.O.L., capture the flag!!, and other such like that.

At Camp: 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07; Favorite Meal: Camp Stix's Pizza is scrumpshalicious!; Favorite Experience: Joining Stix staff was awesome!!; Favorite Song: I love singing "Friends" at all the campfires, it's a really emotional song at the end of camp every year.; How has Camp Helped You? Camp Stix gives me something to look foward to with my diabetes. I always know camp friends will be there to help me with diabetes and my life.; Favorite Activity: I loved playing AWOL as a camper (never found in 5 years) and finding all of my campers this year was great.

I am not diabetic but my twin brother is and it has helped me understand what he goes through every day.
